The Government of President Nayib Bukele has begun the application of the second dose of the anti-COVID-19 vaccine to the personnel of the first line.

El Salvador received the ninth batch of anti-COVID-19 vaccines at the “San Oscar Arnulfo Romero y Galdámez” International Airport. The new shipment brings 500,000 doses of the Sinovac vaccine and is the fourth batch from China that will allow the rapid immunization of 4.5 million Salvadorans against COVID-19.

The Minister of Health, Francisco Alabí, highlighted that the country has applied 1,543,904 doses of anti-COVID-19 vaccines. He added that with the arrival of this batch of 500,000 doses, the arrival in El Salvador of approximately 2.5 million doses of anti-COVID-19 vaccines has been completed.

The Government has made arrangements for the acquisition of 11.4 million vaccines, with which the target population of Salvadorans will be covered, from which those under 18 years of age and pregnant women due to medical indications will be excluded.
